Sussex Partnership

Sussex UniversityAt the University of Sussex, ranked in the top 80 universities in the World (Times Higher Education Supplement, World University Rankings 2010) a new partnership has emerged.

Linda Grace Buckham and her team at the Careers and Employability Centre are committed to providing cutting edge support and development to their students through their partnerships with local and National Employers.

Recent collaboration with Clemorton has yielded a winning formula in the Learning to Lead ILM Development Award for undergraduates and post graduate students alike. The 6th Programme was completed in June of 2015.

The Programme has been widely acclaimed and very well recieved, both within HE and the local community.

"Intense, interesting and a great experience. Learning to Lead really helped me learn about myself, how I work in teams and also was a crucial experience to mention during online forums and interviews when applying for first year internships. I got onto the Price Waterhouse Cooper first year Insight Academy Programme and that's pretty much a direct result of Learning to Lead"

"Since attending the Learning to Lead course I've managed to gain a place on the prestigious Institute for Direct Marketing summer school, and out of 900 applicants I obtained one of five places on a graduate scheme with leading marketing agency Starcom MediaVest.

"I have no doubt that the personal reflection and lessons learnt during the programme played an enormous part in helping me attain these positions.

"Skills such as how to lead and manage effectively, adapt my behaviour to suit others in the team and how to coach effectively will be enormously useful in helping my marketing career progress in the future."
